I cried (literally) when my local Borders bookstore closed, though I know now it was probably for my own good.

Browsing the aisles of that store became an escape…I could get lost in book titles that caught my eye or ‘best seller’ displays that prompted me to wonder what others were reading.

It didn’t stop at books. I was drawn to magazines with some quiz to ‘find the best exercise for you’ or other piece of wisdom that was going to make my life easier, better, simpler…
